The Bowflex Blaze Home Gym comes in at about the same price as the Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym, but we think your options are superior on the Blaze. For starters Bowflex markets this home gym with more exercise options at 60+. A big design difference is the bench, which provides a sliding seat for performing rows. Another major difference and probably the biggest decision maker in our opinion is that the Blaze Home Gym provides resistance upgrades to 310 and 410 lbs. That’s something won’t find on the PR3000 or PR1000 Home Gyms. Finally, the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym provides a little bit better warranty than you’ll find on other machines in this price range. These are all reasons that we prefer the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym in this price point.

What Isn’t So Great:Bowflex Blaze Home Gym Review

Resistance

If you’ve read any of our other Bowflex reviews you probably knew this was coming. When you’re making an investment in a home gym, you want to make sure you’re going to have a good product for a long time. While the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym is a great product, you will need to spend money to keep it that way. Over time the Resistance Rod® system is going to need to be replaced. In two or three years, you’ll notice that the resistance is getting easier. Yes, you’re probably getting in better shape as well, but with the constant bending, these rods are going to lose resistance. While there is a lifetime warranty on the rods, it does not cover normal wear and tear. You’ll need to buy new rods with your own money.

Final Word on the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym:

There are a lot of home gym options in this price range. You can find excellent gyms that utilize weight stacks or free weights, but if you’ve read this review you’re probably interested in the Bowflex Resistance Rod® system. If that’s the case, for the price, the Bowflex Blaze is our choice. You get a great design and tons of exercise options. It’s only real downfall is something that you can’t avoid on a Bowflex machine.
