easy. Keep in mind that because there are a lot of pieces, it’s going to
take a little time. It’s not difficult, just time consuming. You’ll
need to set aside an hour or two tops to get this recumbent bike
together.
Know Your Manufacturer:
When you think of innovative, top of the line exercise equipment,
fewer names come to mind than Nautilus®. Based in Portland, Oregon, for
over forty years they have been creating innovative fitness products
with brands like Bowflex®, Schwinn®, Universal® and Nautilus.
What We Love About the Nautilus R616 Recumbent Bike:
The Nautilus R616 Recumbent Bike literally has everything you could
possibly need to get a good and enjoyable workout. It has a media shelf
and connectivity for your mobile devices. One of the best things about
the R616 Recumbent Bike is in the name. When you buy a Nautilus, you can
be assured you are getting a high quality piece of exercise equipment.
And on top of all that the R616 is beautifully designed and loaded with
features like 25 resistance levels and 29 programmed workouts that will
keep your workout varied, challenging, and interesting.
Console
The Nautilus R616 Recumbent Bike’s console comes equipped with 29
programmed workouts. You won’t find this on some competitor models that
cost three times as much…seriously! The R616 Recumbent Bike has workouts
that simulate rolling hills, a ride in the park, stream crossing,
Pike’s Peak, Mount Hood, pyramids, and it has challenging workouts likes
an uphill finish, stairs and intervals. Nautilus also provides a
feature on their consoles that many other competitors do not;
connectivity to apps. With this recumbent bike you can connect to
Nautilus Connect™ or MyFitnessPal to download your workout data. At this
price, this is an amazing feature that again, a lot of competitors do
not provide. Check out the much more expense SOLE Fitness and
Diamondback Fitness models and you’ll see what we’re talking about.
Quality
Nautilus manufacturers top of the line exercise equipment. Whether
you’re a fitness buff or a novice, you’ve heard of Nautilus. The
Nautilus R616 is a quality machine and will last a lifetime. This
recumbent bike is strong, durable and very stabile due to its large
footprint. The perimeter weighted flywheel also weights the bike very
well and provides a smooth and realistic motion. Nautilus backs the R616
Recumbent Bike with a very dependable 10 year warranty, but chances are
you won’t need to worry about that.
What Isn’t So Great:
The Nautilus R616 Recumbent Bike is a great bike and finding a flaw
is very difficult. In fact the flaw we’re really nitpicking with this
one. The R616 Recumbent Bike comes with handle grip heart rate
monitoring and the ability to use a chest strap, but it doesn’t include
one. It’s basically, the only thing that’s missing with this bike. Chest
straps provide more accurate heart rate monitoring and it allows hand’s
free use. A heart rate monitor will probably run another $50-60 to make
this bike perfect. It’s definitely not necessary, but could be a nice
addition.
Final Word on the Nautilus R616 Recumbent Bike:
If you went in blind looking for a recumbent bike with the same features on the
Nautilus R616 Recumbent Bike,
you would expect to pay over $1,000. In fact, there are bikes
approaching $2,000 that don’t have this many programmed workouts and the
ability to download exercise data. So, when you see the price tag, it’s
a no-brainer. You will not be disappointed with this bike. Drawbacks
for this bike are very hard to come by. Highly recommended.
