Overview:
The
Nautilus R614 Recumbent Bike is a really great
bike for the price. In fact, this bike isn’t missing much that its big
brother, the Nautilus R616, has to offer at a couple of hundred
dollars more. Essentially, the R614 Recumbent Bike has five less
resistance levels and seven less programmed workouts. It also doesn’t
offer the ability to use a heart rate chest strap. Other than that, you
are pretty much getting the same recumbent exercise bike. You get the great quality that comes with the Nautilus name.
You also get a ton of extra features that keep you connected to the
outside world and that provide you with an enjoyable exercise experience
that you’ll be eager to come back to daily to lose the pounds and tone
up in comfort. The
Nautilus R614 is a strong contender and we’ll dig in deeper in our recumbent exercise bike review.

What We Love About the Nautilus R614 Recumbent
Bike:
It’s going to be tough to find a recumbent bike in this price range
as good as the Nautilus R614 Recumbent Bike. It has a lot of options
that keep you connected to the outside world and provide you an
enjoyable workout experience. It has a media shelf and connectivity for
your mobile devices. It also has a lot of other great features like 20
resistance levels, 22 programmed workouts and the ability to connect to
workout apps.
Console
The Nautilus R614 Recumbent Bike’s console comes equipped with 22
programmed workouts. It has workouts that simulate rolling hills, a ride
in the park, Pike’s Peak, Mount Hood, pyramids, and it has challenging
workouts likes an uphill finish and intervals. Nautilus also provides a
feature on their consoles that many other competitors do not;
connectivity to apps. Not only do many competitors not provide this
option, but many models that cost three or four times as much as the
R614 Recumbent Bike do not provide this option. In comparison, check out
the high-end SOLE Fitness and Diamondback Fitness models.
Quality
There aren’t many bigger names in the fitness industry than Nautilus.
It’s for good reason. Nautilus is known for providing well-built, high
quality exercise equipment and that’s exactly what you’ll get with the
R614 Recumbent Bike. This recumbent exercise bike is strong, durable and
very stabile due to a large footprint. The perimeter weighted flywheel
also keeps this bike grounded and provides a smooth and realistic
motion. Nautilus backs the R614 Recumbent Bike with a very dependable 10
year warranty, but chances are you won’t need to worry about that.
What Isn’t So Great:

Like other models in this price range, the Nautilus R614 Recumbent
Bike only has heart rate monitoring through hand grips. While having a
heart monitoring option is great, it would be even better if there was
an ability to use a chest strap. Not a big issue, just whining here.
Final Word on the Nautilus R614 Recumbent Bike:
Nautilus is offering an effective, high-quality machine in the R614
Recumbent Bike. No huge drawbacks to this one. You get a bunch of
programmed workouts on this bike and the ability to download exercise
data so that you can track your performance from workout to workout. It
also keeps you connected and entertained not only with a handy media
shelf, but also with the ability to connect mobile devices. These are
features that you won’t find on some high-end recumbent bikes. The
Nautilus R614 Recumbent Exercise Bike comes highly recommended.
