Elliptical Trainer Overview:
The
Sunny Health & Fitness SF-E2310 Flywheel Elliptical Trainer is a nice little elliptical for under $300. The elliptical machine’s
design is sturdy and reminiscent of an indoor cycle. With its
front-mounted flywheel and chain drive you can see why. This design,
however, makes the elliptical extremely sturdy. The flywheel comes in at
a whopping 44 lbs and the elliptical itself weighs in at 122 lbs. The
weight and its solid steel frame are sure to keep it grounded even
though it has a fairly small footprint. The design also provides a nice
23” stride for its users, which is sure to accommodate just about
anyone.

What We Love About the Sunny SF-E2310 Elliptical Trainer:
Design
The Sunny SF-E2310 Elliptical Trainer has a nice design. It has a
solid steel frame with mostly welded joints that make it really strong
even though it has a small footprint. The 44 lb front mounted flywheel
keeps it well grounded while exercising. Overall, this elliptical weighs
122 lbs, which is pretty hefty for its size.
Stride
This small elliptical provides a huge 23” stride that is sure to fit
any user. The stride is a little bit more vertical than horizontal, but
the bottom line is you will be able to fully exert yourself on this
machine for an intense workout. Another nice feature is that you can use
both a forward and backward elliptical motion on this machine. One
thing you will need to keep in mind is that this stride will put you
about 22” off the ground at its highest elevation. So, you’ll need to
take that into consideration for head space.
What Isn’t So Great:
Console
Sunny Health & Fitness isn’t giving you the most advanced
computer console on the SF-E2310 Flywheel Elliptical Trainer. In fact,
it’s as basic as they come. You get the normal time, speed, calories and
distance readouts and that’s about it. The console also does not
provide any ability to track your heart rate, which is another big
letdown for this elliptical.
Resistance
This Sunny Elliptical Trainer does give you the ability to change
resistance while exercising, but it’s hard to know how much. The machine
has a tension knob that applies fiction to the flywheel, similar to an
indoor cycle. There are no readouts or markings on the knob to tell you
what level of friction you are putting on the flywheel. So, while you
can increase your intensity, it’s hard to get identical intensity from
workout to workout to track your performance.
Final Word on the Sunny SF-E2310 Flywheel Elliptical Trainer:
When you’re looking for a piece of exercise equipment under $300,
your main concern should be quality. With that being said, the SF-E2310
Flywheel Elliptical Trainer is a decent choice. You’re getting a well
built machine with a solid steel frame and welded joints. It has a 300
lb weight capacity which means it can take a little abuse. This
elliptical also has a large stride that is sure to accommodate just
about any size user. The one thing you don’t get with this elliptical is
a lot of bells and whistles.
